LCD vs Plasma TV 08/04/2009

The two main type of flat screen TV available these days are LCD and Plasma. Which is best?

Why Plasma Might be Best:

Plasma screens display darker blacks than LCD screens, because LCD cells are always backlit even when displaying black, whereas Plasma cells are not.

LCD screens show a blurring effecting during fast motion scenes, due to a slight delay in individual cells turning off. This does not happen with Plasma screens.

Why LCD Might be Best:

LCD screens do not suffer from screen burn like Plasma screens do. This happens when a single image is displayed on the screen for too long.

So, if you don't think screen burn is going to be an issue for you, and you want to see high contrast images with fast action scenes, Plasma is definately the better choice.
